Tzedakah by Bruce Naigles.
It is a philosophical representation of the basic principle of Tzedakah, (the closest English translation is ‘charity’, but it is based on the root word ‘tzedek’ which denotes righteousness, meaning it is also a duty to give) it is Judaic in thought, universal in nature. It symbolizes the Wheel of Life, balanced upon the right and left pillars of the Kabbalistic Tree of Life. In this particular instance the pillars represent Chesed and Gevurah, mercy and judgment/strength respectively. But the wheel is incomplete, broken between the pillars. It only completes itself where the deed of giving and receiving takes place, The right hand of Mercy being received by the left hand of Judgment.
